Make a Reduction Print cloudscape
The reduction printmaking process, unlike multi-block printing, uses only one block of lino to produce a finished image. It can be a challenging discipline as the block is destroyed with each stage of the process. But with careful planning the end results can be very satisfying.
Suitable for those who have previously taken part in the Cloud Reduction Print Workshop or those with some experience of lino printmaking.
This workshop will enable participants to employ techniques and approaches learned on the Cloudscape Workshop.
By the end of the workshop participants will have created one or more small cloudscape prints using the lino reduction printmaking process.
Participants will understand how to:
• create a workable cloudscape design
• transfer their design to the lino block
• cut a design from a lino block
• use the reduction printmaking process
• to overlay inks
• effectively roll ink onto a block
• register an image to paper using Ternes Burton registration method
• apply the image to paper using hand burnishing
