Sculpture Workshop with Luke Shepherd

Ends 11 May 2024

11am - 3pm
All abilities welcome.

Join artist Luke Shepherd for a one-day sculpture workshop focused on traditional classical techniques.

Inspired by classical Renaissance training methods, delve into the art of sculpting by copying plaster casts. These exercises will equip you with the skills, confidence, and understanding needed to sculpt with precision, mastering the art of observation, measurement, and construction.

Your task for the day? To recreate the eye of Michelangelo's David.

Using air-dry clay, craft your replica to proudly display at home as a constant reminder of your journey into the world of sculpture.

Prepare for a day filled with enjoyment, hands-on learning, and the exploration of practical techniques used by figurative sculptors.

Led by Luke Shepherd, a renowned portrait sculptor whose works grace museums, universities, and private collections worldwide. Luke is celebrated for his captivating portraits, including those of Floella Benjamin and Billy Connolly. With his expertise, he guides students from beginners to advanced levels, even extending his knowledge to plastic surgeons.
